What is Schumann resonance?
Schumann resonances are extremely low-frequency electromagnetic modes supported by the space between Earth's conducting surface and the ionosphere.
A global electromagnetic cavity
Lightning discharges provide broadband energy that can excite standing-wave patterns around the planet. The first mode is commonly discussed near 7.83 Hz, followed by higher modes around 14.3, 20.8, 27.3, and 33.8 Hz.
Why 7.83 Hz is a reference
The quoted fundamental is an observed and modeled reference that changes with ionospheric height, conductivity, source distribution, and measurement conditions. It is not a fixed pulse that rises whenever the signal becomes brighter.
How to read it responsibly
Compare frequency, amplitude, Q-factor, timestamps, and spectrogram structure together. A single reading can be interesting, but a pattern over time carries more interpretive value.
